History

Festival Cinema Invisible (FCI) is an independent, not-for-profit venue dedicated to celebration of the Middle Eastern films that international audience may not otherwise see.

The first edition of FCI took place on May 17, 18, 19, and 20 of 2012, the beautiful city of Montreal, Canada. Despite its novelty, the festival was a success. Hundreds of seats were filled and films were followed by a compelling discussing between viewers and filmmakers. Winners for each category were decided by the viewers themselves.

To emphasize the vast and rich cultures and traditions of the Middle East, each year Festival Cinema Invisible will focus on one area of this region. In 2012 FCI concentrated on Iran as its central focus. 2013 is dedicated to Israel’s invisible cinema. This festival will launch in May 2013, with exact dates to be announced.
